From rulers\, envoys\, and officials t o merchants\, interpreters\, and religious teachers\, the conference highl ights how Asian actors shaped tributary relationships\, treaty-making\, an d commercial exchanges across six centuries of cross-cultural diplomacy.\n Hosted by Thammasat University's Faculty of Political Science\, Pridi Bano myong International College\, and the Thai Khadi Research Institute — in c ollaboration with the Historical Treaties of Southeast Asia research progr amme at Linnaeus University — this is the second in a series of three inte rnational conferences on cross-cultural diplomacy in Asia.\nScholars at al l career levels and from anywhere in the world are invited to submit propo sals for panels or individual papers. PhD students and early-career resear chers\, especially those based in Asia\, are particularly encouraged to ap ply. Themes include tributary relations\, treaty-making\, diplomatic cerem ony and protocol\, religious and commercial aspects of diplomacy\, gender dimensions\, linguistic translation\, and the material and physical proper ties of diplomatic documents and artefacts.\nParticipation is free of char ge for all presenters and active panel participants.
