The submission deadline for Treaties and Tributes: Asian Agency and Performativity in Cross-Cultural Diplomacy, c. 1400–1975, to be held at Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand, on 19–21 February 2027, has now passed.
As organisers of the conference, we are delighted by the strong response to our call for papers from scholars across the world, particularly from Asia. We are grateful for the many excellent proposals we have received and regret that due to constraints on time and premisses, we were unable to accept all proposals.
We look forward to welcoming participants to Bangkok for what promises to be an exciting conference on treaties, tribute relations, and cross-cultural diplomacy in Asian and global history. It is still possible (until 31 January 2027) to register for the conference, either as a presenter or as a non-presenting attendee.
For registration, programme updates, practical information, and future announcements, please visit the conference website.
Thank you to everyone who submitted a proposal. We look forward to seeing you in Bangkok in February!
